yes you get in touch with the suing lawyer as the debt firm you are paying may be a total scam

That depends on whether or not your debt with this company was negotiated under the terms of your debt consolidation. If they are, then they have agreed to repayment terms and the contract is binding I believe. Contact your debt consolidation company and ask how to handle the situation. Be sure to take all your payments and paperwork to court if need be.

Debt consolidation? No my dear your in a Debt settlement plan. Debt consolidation will pay your debt monthly. Creditors don’t normally sue when thier getting paid monthly
So I am going to be blunt and to the point there is not a lot of time to mess around. Obviously you relize somthing is wrong because your seeking answers to whats going on and I am sure you relize that the dumbest thing you can do is hide from this whole issue.
Some additional information would help me steer you in the right direction. I need to know some details like have you settled any of your debt? If not then we need to ask Who have you been paying for 14 months?
You should have a whole lot of money stashed away…. after 14months
Is the settlement company contacting the law firm? Do you have any funds to resolve the situation. What creditor is this? Have you been issued a summons? If so you need to respond to the summons…
If you have been served and you ignore it then you will have a mess to deal with. Tell me, what has the company you employed told you as far as the action they are taking to resolve this situation.
Chances are you were mislead when you signed up as a client…… Happens all the time, now that you know what the stakes are you need to be proactive and find out whats going on. This is your financial future you have a right to know.
am curious what the company your dealing with. ………..but I would prefer you email me privately and not blast it in this forum………..

I loved Kourtney’s answer. I do hope you contact her privately.
In addition to that please go to and see if there are any other people in your situation by typing in the name of the company there.
You will find that there are plenty of debt consolidation companies ripping people off. By posting there you can make yourself available for a class action lawsuit
